Finetuning Our Assets
From the last time I wrote, I was talking about how I was gathering more research and being able to build out 3d assets of Josephine Butler using Meshy to build these out.
Zen was able to fix up the assets very nicely. He added some textures to both models, and we brought them into Hoverlay just to see how they look. Now we have a whole Hoverlay built out with the experience we’ve been building out. I’m very proud of how far we have come with the group, from Alexis to Zen to Garrett to Ricky; we’ve all been working hard together. Throughout classes, we check in to see how everyone is doing and make sure everyone is on the same page on what we are doing.
To go on what I did now, from finding those videos of Josephine Butler, I was in charge of editing them down to only around a minute for our Hoverlay experience. I was working closely with Garrett to see how long each video should be. Both are around a minute and thirty seconds. We don’t want to have too long videos, so that we don’t lose the audience when they do the immersion and decide to skip ahead to check something out or completely skip out on the videos themselves. The two videos they had me edit for the Hoverlay experience are the video I found of her talking on stage for the 25th Earth Day and the Trailblazer video that talks mainly about her. In the hoverlay experience, Ricky added playable links that you’ll be able to click to watch the full videos on YouTube if interested. As I said previously, we did all this so no one loses interest in the videos. To add on for our Earth Day experience, Zen built out a stage where we will use the video I edited and have her speak on it. Ricky built out the experience, so I have kept him updated as well when I have the videos done that he can put them in and we can make sure they look smooth.
Now we are working on just fine-tuning everything, getting ready for the due date, and making sure that everything is
smooth and working well. I am also working on just fine-tuning the videos as well as taking notes from Garrett that he gives me that I can use to help me out. For the Earth Day video, he helped me edit it. Mainly just having almost a start and finish for me, more so giving me something that he’d want in Hoverlay, that way I don't have to worry about gathering a part of the video that we may rather want to use instead. Now my plan of attack is working on the rotoscope, getting it down, and making sure it looks clean and crisp. Ricky has been helping me out with Rotoscoping. More so, just helping me get the hang of it and using it, versus masking out the whole video so that it doesn’t look right. We are finishing up, mainly fine-tuning everything, and I’m excited for the final turnout of this. We worked super hard on this, and I am so proud of everyone.
