Ok, I thought this was funny so I had to share this #dailysketchext. You know those too-perfect (uncomfortably perfect really) paintings from the Renaissance where they make every person of importance or nobility sort of stiff and regal? This is a detail study/sketch from one of them called The Procession of the Magi by Benozzo Gozzoli in Florence. What cracks me up is the expression on this regal person's face. It reminds me of when parents get their kids dressed up for school pictures in nice clothes and they don't want to do it. "Come on mom, do I really have to wear these red tights and sit up like this?" Apparently this sort of thing has been going on for centuries...
