This #dailysketchext is from the first time I went to the Frick in NYC. What a collection!!! I immediately fell in love with this piece and the story of the woman in the painting as soon as I heard it. If you happen to be in NYC, go see this collection (and take a pic of this piece and post it and tag me in it please). The part I remember the most from this woman's story is that she was married to a man who loved her dearly, but she never believed in herself enough to think that her husband, or anybody else, could really love her. That did not deter her husband and he lived and acted in their marriage being considerate of this fact and reassuring her as much as he possibly could. I really appreciated that at the time because I could definitely identify with how that woman felt.
