Meet Lara Jones! She is a science fiction/comic book character that I created just so that I could have an excuse to explore doing production design/art direction and building a set with a team. Not only did I do the production design on this shoot/movie scene but I also designed the costume. This was my first time directing a crew that big (about 30 people on set). The makeup is by Belvia Rivas and Lara Jones is played by Ashley Apolonia. I worked with a team of students from San Diego City College to build the set and I used one of their soundstages (thank you Duane Gardella!). To create Lara Jones, I used a guiding backstory that is not really necessarily part of her actual story. I will tell you more about that when I post more of the images from this shoot!
