I personally was freaking out about it and posting it in all the photojournalist and camera r&d websites wondering if it would degrade our jobs even further, but it ended up not having enough resolution (among other things) to matter. Well, Lytro appears to have done a MAJOR course correction! An article in Red Shark introduces the capabilities of the new Lytro cinema camera and it is jaw dropping! The light field technology makes it possible to insert CG easily without green screen because it gives gci artists the ability to have control over the scene just like any 3D model in their computer! And it does it via a plug in! The possibilities of this BLOW MY MIND! š„
