One must begin somewhere... So, a while back, I started the #dailysketchext project for myself because I wanted to challenge myself to draw quickly and make sketches that would be less about the refining technique and more about the concept. I had intended to later use these sketches to make conceptual art photos. During this process I have discovered a few things: first and foremost I discovered that coming up with a good concept is far more time consuming than the execution of a sketch. The other thing I learned was that this concept & sketch on a daily basis actually ended up taking up the bulk of my art-work time in the day, leaving me little time to refine my technique or trying new ways of doing things and because of that, I was beginning to resent the #dailysketchext for not allowing me to do other things. I still have a few days left of previous sketches to show you, but I'm thinking maybe that from this point forward I will commit myself to one or two a week instead of one each day. At least, not a concept & sketch each day that is. I'll see and play it by ear. Thanks for all the love you gave me about this up until now though! I really needed it and I really appreciate it!
