So pen used to intimidate the bejesus out of me and I only drew with pencil. Eventually, I got around to expressing myself very carefully in black pen. Right about when my enthusiasm for this began to wane, I met an accomplished stipple artist who took me under his wing for a few months. His first suggestion was to change the color of my pen to red and see what happened. This #dailysketchext is one of the things that grew out of that. It was interesting, I wouldn't have thought that changing the color of my sketch pen would matter so much, but it did bring out an entirely different side of me and get my excited again about working with ink.
