In a Sunset Boulevard mood for today's #dailysketchext and I don't know why. This is probably my most favorite film noir of all time though. There was just something very cool about that genre. I never have gotten tired of watching this movie. I think it's because there is so much truth in it. It's actually kind of crazy when you think about it. Gloria Swanson, who plays Norma Desmond, was actually an aging silent film star and the man who played the great-director-fallen-from-grace, Max, actually was a great silent film director fallen from grace. The "waxworks" are actually all real silent film stars. And Cecil B. DeMille was actually filming a movie in those scenes where he was filming a movie. If you haven't seen this yet, and you are interested in seeing something interesting in black and white, go see this.
