I have been contemplating posting this #dailysketchext for some time, but I always was a little unsure of whether or not I would scare the kids who follow me... I used to hang around a lot of musicians. I was a music photographer and my cousin and I ran an online radio station, so I saw a lot of this. Sometimes, I think, I may have even felt a little like this myself. It was a very educational period of time in my life. I became very cynical about artists during this time too... It has taken me a while to recover from that... In this sketch, I tried to convey that both parties are actually somewhat equal in their messed-up-ness. No one should do to themselves what that girl is doing to herself, but also, no artist should be so above it all (whether they draw, play music, act, etc). The cynical part of me still doesn't wholly believe it yet, but I really like how nowadays the attitude amongst artists in the music business is changing and it's more about inclusion instead of exclusivity and celebrity.
